Jamba Juice Co. (Emeryville, Calif.) has launched a new store format that includes drive-throughs, juice bars and smoothie stations at its restaurants. Along with this new design initiative, the company will rework its existing stores during the next four years.

“The addition of new formats and concepts to our current roster traditional and non-traditional formats will help deliver experiences that … give our customers environments that engage and inspire their pursuit of an active and healthy lifestyle,” says James White, Jamba Juice’s president, chairperson and ceo.

The company debuted some aspects of this new concept in California last year. Improvements include a more open layout, environmentally friendly materials, updated graphics, brighter lighting and a variety of seating.

In 2013, the company plans to open 60-80 retail locations, add up to 100 limited-menu smoothie stations and refresh 75-100 stores.
