A jewelry store owner in Riverside, CA, opened fire as his business was robbed on Saturday, scaring the two suspects away.

The suspects entered Geneva Jewelry and used hammers to break jewelry display cases, KABC-TV reports.

The owner then got his gun from a back room and began shooting in an attempt to chase the suspects away, according to KABC. One shot hit the ground and another struck the store window.

Store employee Michaelangelo Torchia told KTLA-TV: “Once they got scared, they fell to the floor. They ran out.”

No injuries were reported in the incident, which happened at about 11 a.m.

The suspects reportedly made off with thousands of dollars in jewelry.
