Kroger to Expand Fry’s Food Stores

The Kroger Company (Cincinnati) is expanding its Fry’s Food Stores division in Arizona. The grocery chain has announced that seven new stores are planned for 2016, six of which will operate in the large Marketplace format.

Supermarket News reports the expansion is a $260 million investment and includes fuel centers. The move will create more than 2000 new full- and part-time jobs.

Kroger has stated that all new locations are designed for energy efficiency and plans for all the stores to earn Energy Star ratings.
