Macy’s to Feature New Rachel Rachel Roy Brand

Exclusive line to include contemporary sportswear, footwear and accessories

Macy’s Inc. (Cincinnati) is partnering with Jones Apparel Group Inc. (New York) to feature the Rachel Rachel Roy diffusion brand exclusively at select department stores, starting in August 2009. The Rachel Rachel Roy collection, targeting the better contemporary shopper, will include affordable contemporary sportswear, footwear and accessories.

“Rachel's design sensibility is very appealing to our fashion customer who insists on great value and a perfect complement to the existing stable of high-profile designer brands available exclusively at Macy's,” says Terry Lundgren, Macy’s chairman, president and ceo. “This new collection is another move in our continued effort to differentiate our assortments with the best, most desired brands on the market, giving customers another powerful reason to choose Macy's.”

Jones Apparel Group's investment in the Rachel Roy brand began with its New York designer label. The company is now extending its reach to the better contemporary arena with the launch of the diffusion Rachel Rachel Roy label. Susan Metzger, ceo for women's wholesale sportswear for Jones, will oversee the brand.
