Macy’s Inc. (Cincinnati) and Sean “Diddy” Combs have partnered to rollout a series of new shops for the celebrity brand. A new 2000 square-foot Sean John men’s shop opened at Macy’s Herald Square this week, located on the denim and contemporary men’s floor. The new shop replaces an older, smaller corner location.

“It’s a vote of confidence in Sean John,” Macy’s ceo and chairman Terry Lundgren said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, reports Women’s Wear Daily. “Our business is already very good but we think we can take it to a whole new level. We spent the past five months on the design and architecture and technology attached to it.”

The retailer is testing the shop before rolling it out to additional Macy’s department stores. Design details include lustrous white fixtures and showcases and an interactive 46-inch touchscreen video display that allows customers to search for and shop additional Sean John product online.

A similar shop measuring 790 square feet opened last month in Macy’s Union Square flagship in San Francisco. In May 2010, Sean John signed an exclusive distribution agreement for its men’s sportswear with Macy’s, reports WWD.
