A new Meijer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) Marketplace opened in the Chicago area on August 14 with a 91,000-square-foot space. The new store, located in Berwyn, is one of Meijer’s small-format venues aimed at urban shoppers.

We are proud to welcome Meijer to our community,” said mayor Robert J. Lovero. “Meijer is one of the key new businesses in Berwyn that is helping to lead the charge in the economic re-development of the near-west suburbs. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with them.”

The Meijer Marketplace concept launched a year ago, and there are now 15 Meijer stores, including the newest Marketplace, in the Chicago area.
