The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. (Dallas) reported a 12.2 percent increase in total revenues for its fourth quarter of fiscal year 2004. Comparable revenues for the quarter increased 12.5 percent.

For the entire fiscal year 2004, the retailer’s total revenues jumped 14.5 percent and comparable revenues were up 14 percent.

“I am extremely pleased with our fourth quarter and fiscal year 2004 performance,” said president and ceo Burton Tansky. “We exceeded many historical milestones this year by maintaining our long-term commitment to quality, fashion leadership and outstanding customer service.

“In addition, our intense focus on full-price selling, inventory management and expense control resulted in record sales and earnings for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2004.”

Thriving in a difficult economy for retailing, Neiman Marcus was named the winner of the 2004 Peter Glen/VM+SD Retailer of the Year Award and will receive the honor at VM+SD’s International Retail Design Conference (IRDC) later this month in Miami Beach.
