7-Eleven announces president and ceo

7-Eleven Inc. (Dallas) has named Joseph DePinto president and ceo of the company, effective Dec. 1, 2005. DePinto will replace Jim Keyes, who retired earlier this month. DePinto will oversee all strategic, operational and financial aspects of the company, and will report to Toshifumi Suzuki, chairman and ceo of Seven-Eleven Japan Co. Ltd. (Tokyo).

DePinto, returns to 7-Eleven from GameStop Corp. (Grapevine, Texas), the video game and entertainment software retailer, where he had been president since March 2005. Prior to that, he had been vp, operations at 7-Eleven and senior vp and chief operating officer of Thorntons Inc. (Louisville, Ky.).
