Nike Names New Strategic Planner

Nike Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.) has named Michelle Moorehead vp of global strategic planning, effective immediately. Moorehead succeeds Curt Roberts, who became the vp and general manager of Nike Vision, Timing and Tech Ventures in May 2004.

Moorehead will report to co-presidents Mark Parker and Charlie Denson.

Moorehead had most recently served as vp of transition operations at the Target Corp. (Minneapolis). She joined Target in 2001 as the vp of strategy and performance management. During her three-year tenure, led the process to identify business priorities and was an integral part of a variety of quantifiable business improvement and strategic positioning initiatives.

Prior to joining Target, Moorehead was an associate principal with McKinsey & Co. in Dallas for seven years, where she co-led the North American e-tail practice.

“Michelle’s broad corporate strategic planning and deep retail experience will be a valuable asset to our senior management team,” said Denson.
