Ann Taylor Stores Corp. (New York) has hired Catherine Fisher for the new post of vp, corporate communications. Fisher’s career includes stints at Revlon, Tommy Hilfiger, Joseph Abboud Co. and Calvin Klein Menswear.

Patina-V (City of Industry, Calif.), a provider of mannequins, forms, decoratives, shop concepts and fixtures, has hired Dina Meindl as director of sales. Meindl, who was previously with Econoco/ Mondo Mannequins, is based at Patina-V’s New York showroom.

Moss Inc. (Lincolnwood, Ill.), a provider of tensioned fabric structures, display hardware and printed graphics to the event, exhibit and retail interiors markets, has added Joyce Read its national sales team to direct the company’s sports marketing initiative.

STORE OPENINGS

Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) has announced plans to open its first Nordstrom Rack off-price store in St. Louis. The 34,000-square-foot store is slated to open in fall 2010 in the Brentwood Square shopping center.

JoS. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. (Hampstead, Md.) is opening a 4200-square-foot store at the Trenholm Plaza a shopping complex in Columbia, S.C., operated by Edens & Avant, a retail real estate firm.

Prime Retail (Baltimore), an outlet shopping center developer, announced that Escada and Thomas Pink stores will open this week at its Prime Outlets-Orlando complex in Florida.

Taste of Wynn (Las Vegas), a culinary boutique with merchandise selected by the chefs at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore complexes, has opened in the Encore Esplanade.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

idX Corp. (St. Louis), a fixture manufacturer, won the 2009 Economic Development Achievement Award from Howard County, Md., for its soon-to-be-opened 435,000-square foot plant in the Gateway Commerce Center in Columbia, Md.

ADD Inc (Boston), an architecture and design firm, announced its offices have been certified LEED-Commercial Interiors (CI) Platinum by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Darden Restaurants (Orlando) has opened its new Restaurant Support Center and is seeking LEED-New Construction (NC) Gold certification for that complex from the U.S. Green Building Council.
