Nordstrom Sales on the Rise

Third quarter reports indicate Midwest and Northwest among strongest regions

Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. reports same-store sales grew 10.7 percent to $2.48 billion for the quarter ended October 27. The luxury department store chain says its most popular merchandise categories include apparel, children’s apparel and men’s shoes.

The Midwest and Northwest regions are the top-performing areas in comparison to the third quarter of 2011, according to the third quarter report. Nordstrom Rack continues to demonstrate strong sales growth with an increase in same-store sales of 8.1 percent, the company says.
