Premium Outlet Center Planned in Shanghai

Simon Property Group partners with Bailian Group

Simon Property Group Inc. (Shanghai) and the retail conglomerate Bailian Group (Pujiang, Zhejiang, China) have announced a planned partnership to develop Premium Outlet Center, a hub of retail outlets, in Shanghai.

With interests in 70 Premium Outlet Centers in six countries, including the U.S., Simon Property Group’s portfolio includes New York’s Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, Tokyo’s Gotemba Premium Outlets and several others.

Bailian Group, a large retail conglomerate, operates more than 6,000 stores in China. Together, the companies hope to build their first outlet shopping center in Shanghai’s Pudong district, adjacent to a local Disney resort.
