Ron Frasch Leaves Bergdorf for Saks

Ex-chairman/ceo will develop international and private label business, reporting to Brad Martin

Ronald Frasch, chairman and ceo of the Bergdorf Goodman subsidiary of The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. (Dallas), has resigned to accept an unspecified position with Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.).

Neiman Marcus said that president and ceo Burton Tansky will serve as interim ceo of its New York-based fashion retailer until a successor is named.

Saks Inc. chairman and ceo R. Brad Martin said, “Ron will report to me and concentrate on our international opportunities and private brand development.”

Prior to his stint at Bergdorf Goodman, Frasch was ceo of Escada USA (New York) in 1994-1996 and president of fashion apparel designer and manufacturer GFT USA Corp. (Rutherford, N.J.) in 1996-2000. He had previously been with both Saks Fifth Avenue, as divisional merchandise manager, and Neiman Marcus, in various merchandising roles, eventually becoming senior vp, general merchandise manager.
