William Lynch, senior vp and general merchandise manager of women’s ready to wear at Saks Fifth Avenue (New York), has been appointed to the newly created post of senior vp of brand filter implementation.

As such, Lynch will be responsible, said the company, “for the internal implementation of the company’s brand strategy and will focus his efforts to facilitate a culture of superior customer service.” He will become part of the brand filter task force developing programs designed to support Saks’ brand initiatives.

Lynch joined Saks Fifth Avenue in 1992, after previous retail positions at the May Co. (St. Louis) and Macy’s (New York), and has held various merchandising positions of increasing responsibility.

In this new role, Lynch will report to Manuel Sousa, recently named executive vp of human resources.

Succeeding Lynch in his old post will be Joseph Boitano, currently Saks’ senior vp, general merchandise manager of women’s designer ready-to-wear.
