Saks Fifth Avenue (New York) has opened a sneaker shop on the seventh floor of its New York flagship.

The “Saksneaks” boutique is located next to the regular shoe department and adjacent to the denim department.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that the department features many  designers brands, including Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Bally, Fendi and Pierre Hardy. Eric Jennings, men’s fashion director told WWD that the shop also offers shoes from Givenchy, Dior, Prada, Lanvin, Versace, Valentino and the Adidas by Raf Simons and Y-3 collaborations.

The shop features a new logo, graphics and lighting to set it apart from the rest of the footwear assortment.

Jennings said the space was opened first in New York to take advantage of the Super Bowl. Eventually, he said, 16 Saks stores will “have visual statements,” starting Feb. 22, 2014, when the department officially launches.

Saks stores in Houston, Chicago and Boston will have opening events, with local basketball and hockey players, and billboard will be used to advertise the new addition.
