Sears Holdings (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) is bringing back John Goodman to serve as executive vp, apparel and home, as well as fulfill the role of president for Kmart Apparel until a permanent leader for that business unit is identified. Goodman will be responsible for the oversight and leadership of Sears Holdings' Apparel and Home businesses, both in-store and online. He previously served as chief apparel and home officer at Kmart until 2005 and most recently was ceo at apparel retailer Charlotte Russe.

“We're extremely pleased to welcome John back to Sears Holdings,” says Bruce Johnson, interim ceo and president of Sears Holdings. “We’re confident that John will help us attract additional talent to our company and we believe his leadership will enable our Apparel and Home businesses to better compete and enhance our relationships with customers.”

The mid-tier department store retailer is opening a new San Francisco office where Goodman will be based – a move similar to the one the company made three years ago when it opened a design office in New York’s Lower Manhattan.

Goodman’s 20-year career has also included posts as president and ceo of Mervyn's department stores; as president of the Dockers brand at Levi Strauss and Co.; and leadership positions at Gap Inc. and Bloomingdale's.
