Tanger and Simon to Open New Outlet Center in Texas

Eighty brand-name and designer stores part of center’s first phase of development

Tanger Outlets in Texas City will open its doors this month, providing a new shopping destination to consumers along the Gulf Coast. The shopping center is a 50/50 joint venture between developer Tanger Factory Outlets Centers Inc. (Greensboro, N.C.) and global retail real estate company Simon Property Group Inc. (Indianapolis).

The 350,000-square-foot upscale outlet center, located approximately 30 miles south of downtown Houston and 20 miles north of Galveston, has the potential of a 50,000-square-foot expansion. Among the brands and designer outlet stores on hand are Banana Republic Factory Store, Bass, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Gymboree, IZOD, J.Crew, Jones New York, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store, Nine West, Reebok, Skechers, Tommy Hilfiger and White House | Black Market.
