Target Promotes Black Friday in July

Online-only sale offers holiday shopping deals for one day

In the newest “Christmas in July” marketing effort, Target is hosting its first-ever online Back in Black Friday sale this Friday. The exclusive online-only sale will begin at 12:00 a.m. PDT and conclude at 11:59 p.m. and will offer an average of a 40 percent off regular prices in all categories, including apparel, electronics, toys, housewares, movies, music, books and more.

“At Target.com, we are committed to offering our guests tremendous value every day,” says Steve Eastman, president, Target.com. “With our first-ever Back in Black Friday, guests will find incredible bargains before the holiday season with the added convenience of online shopping.”

The company will also open a Chicago store this weekend, at 4466 N Broadway St. The new general merchandise store will include fresh produce, meat and bakery goods, as part of its new grocery format. Other store amenities include Starbucks, Target Café, Target Pharmacy, Target Optical and Pizza Hut Express.

Minneapolis-based Target Corp. operates 1740 stores in 49 states.
