Target Rebrands CityTarget, TargetExpress Stores

Will simply be called Target stores

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) announced that it will be rebranding its CityTarget and TargetExpress stores simply as Target stores.

According to the Star Tribune, originally these stores were intended to be smaller-format Target stores. The company found that customers found the variety of names confusing and did not understand the differences between the stores, as some were actually larger than typical Target stores.

“It’s about a simplified experience for our guests,” said Erika Winkels, a Target spokeswoman. “It also helps guests understand that you’re not only limited to what’s in the four walls of that store.”

Currently, there are about 14 TargetExpress and CityTarget stores throughout the country that will be affected by the change, which will take place in October.
