Danish chain Tiger (Copenhagen, Denmark) will open its first U.S. store in New York May 16.

The 5000-square-foot Flying Tiger Copenhagen unit will offer quirky and colorful items with a Scandinavian touch, including sunglasses, umbrellas, tote bags, pouches, pad covers, scarves, hats, T-shirts, tops, long johns and candles. The store will be located on the southeast corner of Broadway and 21st Street, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

“Everything is a little left of center,” Tina Kanter, managing director of Flying Tiger Copenhagen, told WWD.. “There’s a lot of stuff for your 8-year-old, but we’re really directed toward your inner 8-year-old self.”

Tiger currently operates 237 stores in 25 countries.
