Retailer signs exclusive agreement to sell Segway HT

Brookstone Inc. (Nashua, N.H.) has announced a partnership with Segway LLC (Manchester, N.H.), making it the first and only national retail store chain to sell Segway's Human Transporter.

Beginning Nov. 1, 2003, Brookstone customers will be able to view, demo and purchase the Segway HT, a self-balancing, two-wheeled transportation device designed for short-distance travel, at select locations (excluding Texas, where Segway already has distribution).

Brookstone will also sell the Human Transporter through its catalog.

Currently, 46 states, and the District of Columbia, allow Segway HTs to operate on sidewalks.
