Vera Wang has temporarily closed it New York flagship store to prepare for a renovation.

The boutique on Madison Avenue, between 76th and 77th streets, will be refurbished by Brian Sawyer of Sawyer-Berson, who is doing a similar renovation for the bridal design brand in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that the interior will be recast in the designer’s signature dark gray, black andwhite palette, “but with a slightly different, more classical slant,” Wang said, “out of respect for the Carlyle Hotel and our 24-year history there.

While the store is closed, the company said it will accommodate brides seeking gowns out of its offices on East 26th Street.
