Wawa (Media, Penn.) announced its plans to open 120 stores throughout South Florida, starting in 2017 through 2022. The chain’s first stores in the region will open in Florida's Palm Beach and Broward counties. Stores are planned to open in Miami-Dade County, Fla., in 2018. The new stores are expected to bring nearly 3000 jobs to the region.

The chain opened its first store in the state three years ago and, since then, has expanded to more than 70 Florida locations.

In anticipation of the retailer’s entry into the region, it recently hosted a community partnership event at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) to introduce locals to Wawa’s product offerings, as well as its commitment to community outreach, reports Sun Sentinel.
