Designer plans megastore in Hong Kong for 2002

Giorgio Armani has announced plans to open a “megastore” in Hong Kong's Central district in October 2002. It will be second in size and product depth only to the designer's new store in Milan. Jakob Meier, president of Giorgio Armani Asia Pacific, calls China a “major market” worthy of further expansion, but local retailers have indicated warnings about depressed consumer spending in the area.
