Cartier (Paris) has completed the renovation of its New York mansion flagship, a process that took more than two years and lasted six months longer than expected.

The renovation doubled the store’s size to 44,000 square feet and expanded its sales floors from one-and-a-half to four floors, making it the largest Cartier store in the world. It will display the entire collection of Cartier products.

The new store design includes a grand staircase that climbs all four levels; chandeliers original to the 1917 residence and 840 pieces of sculpture, art and furniture. There are also various salons dedicated to famous clients including Princess Grace of Monaco and Elizabeth Taylor.

The store’s restoration was chronicled with photographs by Laziz Hamani, reports Women’s Wear Daily.
