40 Carrots, New York

ISP/VM+SD Store Design Competition Winner

After 32 years at Bloomingdale’s metro level, 40 Carrots got an upgrade that included a vertical move, expanded seating and an interior transformation. Bright, modern and inviting, the new space incorporates garden-inspired colors and materials generously.

Natural materials include reconstituted bamboo flooring in the seating area, porcelain tile flooring in high-traffic areas (such as takeaway) and reconstituted wood seating. White textured walls add visual interest and a visual break from the colorful interior. And the columns’ custom striped wallcovering was translated into placemats and printed matter that give the restaurant a new graphic signature. (This project also won an Innovation Award for Signage and Graphics.)
