H-E-B (San Antonio, TX) has opened a new store concept in New Braunfels, TX that features the regional grocer’s first Home by H-E-B department and a two-story True Texas BBQ restaurant.

The renovated store measures 122,000 square feet, about 40,000 square feet larger than the previous format, which opened in 1994. H-E-B says the reopened store’s design elements complement the look and feel of the surrounding community.

The grocer’s Home by H-E-B department spotlights two brands, Haven + Key and Texas Proud, which offer home décor, textiles, furnishings and accent pieces.

Additional features includes a larger curbside area with more spots and nearly 30 check stands with self-checkout registers.

H-E-B will employ more than 500 workers at the store, adding about 150 new positions to its payroll.
