Staples Rebrands B2B Outreach

Office Depot merger seems less likely for approval

Staples (Framingham, Mass.) announced the company is rebranding, as its proposed merger with Office Depot (Boca Raton, Fla.) seems less likely to get approval, reports Fortune.

The rebranding is focusing mostly on growing its business-to-business outreach, which currently accounts for 40 percent of the retailer’s sales.

The plan includes opening a flagship near New York that is being called a “Workplace Experience Center.” This location will serve as a showroom to attract corporate and institutional customers.

It also is renaming its business-to-business division Staples Business Advantage, which was formerly known as Staples Advantage, and expanding its product and services for offices to include breakroom support and janitorial supplies.
