Christopher & Banks Sales Down

Retailer slows store expansion

Christopher & Banks (Plymouth, Minn.) announced a net loss of $710,000 for second quarter sales. Sales fell 12 percent from last year, and same-store sales fell 12.4 percent.

Retailing Today reports that the company plans to slow store expansion and focus on improving existing store performance due to the results.

Ceo LuAnna Via also stated that the store also plans to address merchandising problems to improve holiday sales.
