Published

on

Women’s clothing retailer Chico’s (Fort Myers, Fla.) announced despite sales gains, the company will be selling its direct-to-consumer portion of its specialty women’s apparel chain, Boston Proper. The buyer has not been named.

Retailing Today reports CEO Dave Dryer stated that Boston Proper was not meeting company sales expectations on a conference call. The company will also be closing its existing 20 Boston Proper stores.

This news follows Chico’s announcement in February that it would be closing 120 Chico’s stores due to cost-cutting measures.
