OfficeMax Inc. (Naperville, Ill.) and Old Navy (San Francisco) are teaming up on a cross-promotional campaign to deliver up to 25 percent savings on school supplies and apparel for back-to-school.

Customers that shop at OfficeMax this August will receive a register receipt coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase at Old Navy stores nationwide. Additionally, shoppers purchasing back-to-school fashion at Old Navy will receive a coupon at checkout good for $10 off a $40 purchase at OfficeMax stores or online.

“We’re continuously seeking ways to support our customers and provide additional value,” says Michael Lewis, OfficeMax executive vp, president of retail. “Through this collaboration, OfficeMax and Old Navy are helping consumers buy more for less this back-to-school season. Trendy supplies and fashionable apparel at great savings – it’s a shopping trip both parents and students will enjoy.”

A survey conducted by the National Retail Federation says the average household will spend up to $688.62 on back-to-school supplies this year.
