Starwood Bringing Another Westin Hotel to Dominican Republic

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. (Stamford, Conn.) will bring its Westin brand in the Dominican Republic in late 2013 at the exclusive resort property, Puntacana Resort & Club. The hotel is part of a franchise agreement with The Westin Puntacana Resort and Starwood’s development partner Grupo Puntacana.

Construction on The Westin Puntacana Resort will begin this summer with an opening scheduled for the winter of 2013. It marks the second Starwood property to open in the Dominican Republic. Last year, Starwood announced plans to partner with Grupo Puntacana to open the Four Points by Sheraton Puntacan Village Hotel, which is expected to open later this year.
