Whole Foods creates its first in-store tap room

Whole Foods (Austin, Texas) has always stocked an impressive selection of microbrews and craft beer labels. But now its Santa Rosa, Calif., store can boast the grocer’s first bar-within-a-grocery store. Designed by Field Paoli Architects (San Francisco), the 500-square-foot Coddingtown Tap Room resembles a miner’s saloon, complete with salvaged wood materials, rustic soft pine flooring and sliding barn doors. Inside, customers can choose from 16 local drafts and 300 bottles of beer.
