Callison Appoints New Chairman and Ceo … and More Industry News

MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Architecture and design firm Callison (Seattle) has appointed John Jastrem as chairman and ceo of Callison. Jastrem has served on Callison’s Holdings Board (Callison Architecture Holding LLC and Subsidiaries) since 2006 and as its executive chairman since August 2010. Jastrem replaces former ceo James Rothwell, who is stepping down but will stay on in his previous role as principal overseeing the company’s commercial design practice. Callison’s chairman of the board Robert Tindall and executive vp Steven Epple are also leaving the firm.

Frank Mayer and Associates Inc. (Grafton, Wis.) has hired Carl Maglio as a new account executive. Maglio has more than 20 years of experience in the point-of-purchase industry.

T.C. Millwork (Bensalem, Pa.) has added Paul Johnson and Joe Fernandes to its sales and support team. Johnson has more than 30 years of experience assisting major retailers and previously worked for Amstore, IVC and Premier Store fixtures. Fernandes joins the company with more than 26 years of experience in the store fixture industry, most recently with Robelan Display.

Lighting Science Group Corp. (Satellite Beach, Fla.), a manufacturer of LED-based lighting, has hired Travis Jones as vp of national accounts. Prior to joining Lighting Science Group, Jones worked for Cooper Lighting where he was most recently the business development manager for national accounts.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Architectural Group International (AGI, Covington, Ky.) has been appointed as one of only three authorized design firms for Harley Davidson. AGI will work with the brand’s retail environment group for all dealerships nationwide.

CorkBoards2Go (Bristol, R.I.), a DisplayShops specialty website, has launched a new online site with its entire display product lines. The website is www.corkboards2go.com.

Gemini Inc.’s facility in Taylor, Texas, which manufactures letters, logos and plaques for the sign industry, has received OSHA’s Safety and Health Recognition Program (SHARP) Award. This is Gemini’s third facility to receive SHARP status, joining the company’s Minnesota and Iowa locations.
