The Fashion Center Space for Public Art and Design in New York has unveiled a new window display titled “Repurpose…Recycle… Reflect.” The window was designed by visual merchandising students from LIM College, the nation’s only college focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion.

The window, located at 209 West 38th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, features a female mannequin dressed in an elegant paper wedding gown. Almost the entire window display is made from paper with the vast majority of the paper recycled or previously used or purposed. It was conceived, designed and installed by students in LIM’s Visual Presentation course, which is taught by Professor Marjorie Lee Woo.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Fashion Center to provide this incredible opportunity for our visual merchandising students,” says LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse. “What makes LIM College different from other colleges is our emphasis on real world, hands-on fashion industry experience and this collaboration really exemplifies that.”

The Fashion Center is the headquarters of the Fashion Center Business Improvement District (BID), anot-for-profit corporation that promotes New York City’s apparel industry. The window will be on display through mid-December 2010.
