Nike Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.) has appointed Dave McTague as ceo of its Cole Haan brand, replacing Jim Seuss who has decided to leave the company. McTague will start his new post on January 4.

“We appreciate Jim's leadership at Cole Haan as he has worked to position Cole Haan as a leading, premium brand in the marketplace,” says Eunan McLaughlin, president of Nike Inc. Affiliates. “Over the past several years, Cole Haan has focused on reinvigorating product creation and improving consumer connectivity. We continue to view Cole Haan as a complement to the Nike portfolio with opportunities for long-term growth.”

McTague most recently served as executive vp, Partnered Brands for Liz Claiborne Inc. His new post brings him back to Nike, where from 2005 to 2007, McTague served as president of Converse Apparel, another Nike subsidiary. His 25-year career also includes working at Victorinox, Swiss Army Brands, as president of global apparel and retail, and president of menswear for Tommy Hilfiger USA.
