Gap Inc. (San Francisco) announced that Mark Breitbard will succeed Andi Owen as Banana Republic’s brand president and ceo. He will come on board in early May. Until then, Art Peck, the company’s president and ceo, will oversee the brand. Owen left the post last month, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

Breitbard is currently ceo of Gymboree Inc. (San Francisco), where he has served in that role since 2013. He previously worked for Gap before joining Gymboree and has also worked for Levi Strauss & Co. (San Francisco) and Abercrombie & Fitch (New Albany, Ohio).

Gymboree has not yet announced who will take Breitbard’s place at the company.
