Best Buy promotes two vp's at its new acquisition

Best Buy (Minneapolis) announced the promotions of Melissa Boughton to vp of leasing of its new Musicland Stores division, and Rick Bateson to vp of design and construction.

Musicland (Minnetonka, Minn.), bought by Best Buy in January, operates more than 1,300 stores, including nearly 700 mall-based Sam Goody and Musicland stores. (Most stores now operate under the Sam Goody banner.) It also operates more than 400 mall-based Suncoast Motion Picture Company stores, Media Play superstores and smaller On Cue stores (in less-populated areas).
