Menswear designer to buy bankrupt Bugle Boy brand

Perry Ellis International (Miami, Fla.) announced intentions to acquire the name and clothing operations of Bugle Boy Industries (Simi Valley, Calif.), which filed for bankruptcy last week. Perry Ellis currently designs men's sportswear under the Munsingwear, Crossings, Natural Issue and Perry Ellis labels, holds licenses for the Andrew Fezza and Ping names and licenses the Perry Ellis name to others. It supplies private-label lines to Wal-Mart, Kmart and Meijer.
