Columbia-Prescolite-Moldcast Training Center

The training center for this division of Lighting Corp. of America captured the Grand Prize and first place in the Retail/Showroom category of the DuPont Antron® Design Award competition. Designed by Gass Design, Pipersville, Pa., the center includes a training space for sales representatives and lighting specifiers, along with a separate reception area. Ceiling-level product displays, flanking mirrors, an arcing carpet pattern and special lighting provide a unifying design for the space, which features an undulating ceiling vault in the reception area. A recessed floor light set at the crossroads of the circular carpet illuminates a spherical icon that hovers in the center of the symmetrical space.
