Rack Room Shoes

Charlotte, N.C.

LSI Grady McCauley, the N. Canton, Ohio, signage and graphics manufacturer, created an image program that Rack Room Shoes (Charlotte, N.C.) is trying on for size. Rack Room, a shoe retailer with stores across the country, wanted lightweight, easy-to-install graphics befitting its growth and expansion. LSI attended to the criteria by coming up with colorful, adaptable signage for new and existing stores.

The center barrel — a circular red and purple fixture element measuring 14 feet in diameter — suspends from the store's ceiling, serving as the main visual. Lighting tucked inside it illuminates merchandise, while 3D signage orbits the outside. To distinguish men's and women's sections, LSI developed square wall graphics in blue, yellow and silver. The bold colors thrive in Rack Room's brightly lit spaces.
