AT&T Builds New Flagship

One-of-a-kind store design

AT&T (Dallas) has built a new store in San Francisco that will become the retailer’s largest store in the country when it opens on September 28. The store also features a one-of-a-kind store design that takes advantage of the building’s historic roots as the original headquarters for the Bank of Italy.

Built in 1921, the 24,000-square-foot space includes an ornate ceiling, faux marble walls and other historic elements that the retailer is integrating into the store, which will also be teeming with technology. For instance, the store will give customers a chance to discover (and try out) a variety of the company’s latest products, including a kitchen equipped with a smart refrigerator and a smart bike you can pedal.

According to Fast Company, “The goal, obviously, is to get consumers thinking about the company as something bigger than a provider of wireless services for smartphones.”
