Men’s Wearhouse creative director shares industry observations

The regular gathering of “Wits & Wizards” at New York’s storied Algonquin hotel is turning into a must see-and-be-seen event for the retail design industry’s movers and shakers. At May’s meet-up, co-sponsored by VMSD and emceed by visual merchandising legend Tom Beebe of Hickey Freeman, designer Joseph Abboud, now creative director at Men’s Wearhouse, shared his sharp observations on the current state of the menswear industry: “Young men today are surprisingly interested in the heritage, the craftsmanship, the integrity of fine tailored clothing. It’s a good omen for the future of our industry.” Abboud went on to field questions from a rapt audience.
