Dave Clark, Amazon’s (Seattle) CEO of Worldwide Consumer Business, will resign July 1, according to CNBC and a regulatory filing made Friday. Clark has been with the company for 23 years and worked closely with CEO Andy Jassy.

Jassy says, according to CNBC, “The past few years have been among the most challenging and unpredictable we’ve faced in the history of Amazon’s Consumer business, and I’m particularly appreciative of Dave’s leadership during that time.”

Joining Amazon’s operations division in 1999, Clark was reportedly one of the forces in initially driving the expansion of the online behemoth’s fulfillment and logistics network. In his Worldwide Consumer Business CEO role, Clark oversaw physical and online stores, third party marketplace sellers and Amazon’s Prime subscriptions.

Amazon has not yet named a replacement for Clark, though Jassy said through a blog post that updates will be revealed over the next few weeks.
