American Apparel (Los Angeles) announced a 10 percent increase in their comparable store sales for the month that ended January 31, 2013. This also includes a 7 percent increase for its retail store channel and a 24 percent increase in online sales. The brand’s most profitable stores are currently located in Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, London and New York.

“We had strong performance this January across all channels – retail, wholesale and online … Even without relying on additional store openings, our sales could increase by six percent or greater this year,” said John Luttrell, the company’s executive vp and chief financial officer.
