Apple (Cupertino, Calif.) is cutting some roles from its corporate retail teams, 9to5Mac reports.

The news – first broken by Bloomberg – says the consumer electronics giant is cutting an undisclosed number of posts from the development and preservation teams responsible for building Apple retail Stores and other facilities. The number of positions being trimmed is “very small,” the report says.

Internally, Apple has communicated the job cuts as a “streamlining effort” rather than layoffs. The company told employees that the changes should “improve upkeep of stores globally” and that affected employees will have the chance to reapply for other jobs at Apple, according to the reports.
