Belk to Open New Alabama Store

Store will be double the size, replace current Mobile location

Belk (Charlotte) announced it will open a new flagship store in Mobile, Ala., reports The Charlotte Observer. The store will be replacing one of its already-existing locations and will be more than double that store’s current size.

At 237,000 square feet, the new store will be considered one of the chain’s flagship stores and will feature an expanded product assortment. The current store is about 100,000 square feet in size. The new store will be located at The Shoppes at Bel Air in a space that was formerly occupied by Sears.

The store has not yet confirmed when the new store will open and replace the current store.
