Big Red Rooster Hires Nine and Promotes Two … and More Industry News

MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Big Red Rooster (Columbus, Ohio) has promoted two employees and hired nine new associates. Terrance Wan has joined Big Red Rooster’s Shenzhen, China office as a packaging associate; Ashley Jackson also joined the company as an account manager; Don Rett has been brought onboard as packaging program manger; Danielle Cheek has been hired as program manager; Christina Kelly has joined the team as an onsite packaging coordinator; Ina J. Bachmann has joined as an architectural design project manager; Beth Grace has joined as copywriter; Tessa Menhenett has joined as an executive assistant; and Britnee Powell has joined as human resources coordinator. Promotions include Douglas Burdick to position of vice president and Ashley Rowland to experience strategist.

M. Lavine Design Workshop (St. Cloud, Minn.) and its ceo, Jackie Bach, have appointed Chris Thomas as the firm’s president. His responsibilities will include leading domestic and international sales; developing partnerships; and overseeing sales and marketing strategies.

CDW Merchants (Lincolnwood, Ill.) welcomes Gregg Winkelman as business development manager. Winkelman will be based in New York in order to develop accounts in that area.

ALU (New York) has appointed Davide Cremese as its new managing director of the company. He will be based in New York and will oversee business expansion in North America.

STORE OPENINGS
Fireclay Tile (San Francisco) has opened its new showroom in San Francisco. Fireclay’s artisanal tile is showcased along with two other local manufacturers, Restoration Timber and Wooden Window.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
Source Outdoor (Miami) has launched a new division, Source Awnings. The new branch will design and manufacture custom awnings in-house at its Miami warehouse. With the opening of the new division, 10 new employees were hired.

Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum (Two Rivers, Wis.) has announced its intentions to buy the Formite Tube Co. building located in the Business District overlooking Lake Michigan in Two Rivers, Wis. The 1950s-style factory is 83,000 square feet.

Soraa (Fremont, Calif.) has received an award from the U.S. Department of Energy for its work in the development of high-efficiency, m-plane LEDs grown on low-defect density bulk GaN substrates.
