Reducing retail space by 15 percent

B&Q (Eastleigh, England) announced it will be restructuring its DIY-retail business over the next two years, which includes cutting physical retail space by 15 percent. It plans to close 60 stores throughout the U.K. and Ireland during the time as well as reduce the number of products it offers in-store.

The brand is owned by Kingfisher (London), and while it will be closing many B&Q stores, it plans to open just as many new stores under its Screwfix (Somerset, England) brand this year.

The closures were preceded by a decline in the brand’s sales and pre-tax profits, reports BBC
