Movado Group Inc. (Paramus, N.J.) has added Joe Faranda as senior vp of consumer insights and strategic planning for Movado and ESQ by Movado. In this newly created position, Faranda will be responsible for developing and overseeing the strategic plans for both brands, monitoring market trends and overseeing consumer insights programs.

WinCo Food (Boise, Idaho) has opened a 94,000-square-foot discount supermarket in Roy, Utah. Founded in 1967, WinCo Foods is an employee-owned company with 75 stores and 4 distribution centers in Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon and Utah.

Burger King Corp. (BKC, Miami) was awarded the 2010 Energy Efficiency Excellence Award in the restaurant chain category by Southern California Gas Company. The award recognized BKC as an industry leader for its innovation and commitment to develop energy-efficient kitchen equipment with its Duke Flexible Batch Broiler. The units were installed at 80 restaurants in Southern California, amounting to an estimated savings of $41,300 per year in natural gas costs.
Stylmark Inc. (Minneapolis) announced that John Heimerl has become a LEED green associate, one of three levels of credentialing administered by the Green Building Certification Institute.
Lighting Science Group (Satellite Beach, Fla., a LED lighting supplier), has entered into a relationship with Pace Industries to supply key components to Lighting Science Group. Pace Industries, formerly known as Leggett & Platt Aluminum Group, is a custom aluminum die-casting company with 14 manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico.
Furniture supplier Dauphin (Boonton, N.J.) won a Best of Neocon Silver in the furniture systems category for its konstrux table and storage system at the Neocon World’s Trade Fair 2010. The new konstrux table and storage system feature a konstrux application plate (KAP), which allows linking table-to-table or to shared work surface.
